2010—2025 15 years!

Tushinde marks 15 years of being registered in the UK. That’s 15 years of changing the lives of Kenyan children facing the most challenging situations. It is amazing to look back at all we have achieved. With hundreds of families lifted out of crisis directly through the work of our social workers and thousands more children supported with our outreach programmes, we have so much to celebrate.

This has all been achieved in the most challenging of circumstances — a backdrop of recurring fires, floods and riots, as well as all the personal barriers that children have faced with regards to abuse, witnessing domestic violence, family addiction, the list goes on. The ethos of our team strengthens every day — to ensure that no child in our patch is left behind because of the complexity of their situation and that one day, every informal settlement will have a programme like Tushinde’s to ensure no child falls through the cracks.

past 15 years and look forward to a day when we are no longer needed.
