By leaving a gift in your Will, you can empower families in Kenya to build sustainable livelihoods and secure a brighter future. Because every child, and every family, should have a chance in life.

Save a life — write or update your Will today
Tushinde’s work is often literally life-saving. Working in the settlements of Mathare and Kiambiu, we support families firstly to have the basic necessities of human life — food, clean water, and access to basic life-saving health treatments. Once these are in place, we provide the next level of support — for clothes, books and tuition fees for children to go to school and micro-grants and training to help adult family members to have access to employment.
A gift of £10,000 would pay the annual salary for two social workers in Mathare or Kiambiu, who support dozens of families to enable them to secure a steady supply of food, clean water, shelter and ultimately financial independence.
A gift of £100,000 would enable Tushinde to start our programme to another Kenyan settlement, bringing
fresh hope to hundreds of people who are struggling to access food, water, shelter, education and opportunity.
Make school safe — write or update your Will today
As part of its commitment to building safe, inclusive, and child-friendly school environments, Tushinde Children’s Trust supports Children’s Rights Clubs (CRCs) across 14 primary schools in the two Nairobi settlements of Mathare and Kiambiu. These clubs serve as structured, participatory platforms that empower children to understand, claim, and advocate for their rights within their schools and communities.
A gift of £60,000 would support our School Outreach programme for a year across 15 schools. Building a safe and respectful school environment where children from early years right through to senior school, can thrive in a holistic environment to reach their full potential.

Provide safe daycare — write or update your Will today
Tushinde is committed to transforming informal daycares into safe, nurturing, and developmentally appropriate environments. Our approach is built on the core principles of the Tushinde Daycare Framework: safeguarding, responsive caregiving, nutrition, positive parental engagement, and sustainability.
A gift of £25,000 could create a new Day Care Centre, providing safe and stimulating care six days a week. Currently, with many women having to work to survive, babies and toddlers are often locked alone inside their homes for the entire day.
Invest in a family’s future — write or update your Will today
Each year, Tushinde identifies families who have demonstrated stability and strong parenting skills. These families are enrolled in our Business Training Programme. This is a critical step in our commitment to empower families with the sustainable income generation strategies and financial literacy they need to build a secure future, ensuring they not only survive but thrive.
A gift of £5,000 would provide 15 micro-grants or training programmes to help families to get into work and provide an ongoing source of self-help.
